Non-ferrous corrosion, deep pitting that compromises structural thickness, or objects previously treated with unknown sealants may not respond to our standard protocols. In such cases, we will notify the client before proceeding with alternative methods or returning the item untreated.
We preserve original patina on antique blades and molds where structurally safe. However, areas requiring active rust removal or edge recalibration will necessarily lose their surface oxidation layer. The final appearance in these zones will be bare metal, which will re-oxidize naturally over time. Clients seeking a fully uniform aged appearance should request a post-treatment artificial patina application (additional fee applies).
Our precision edge calibration sets a geometry optimized for the object’s intended use (e.g., culinary, industrial, or collection display). We do not guarantee performance under misuse, such as cutting on hard surfaces, prying, or exposure to abrasive materials. Re-sharpening after delivery is the responsibility of the owner; we offer reconditioning services at standard rates.
